Sales & letting service founded on family values


Homes in Focus was founded in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength as a business built around family values but our history actually goes back a lot further than that.

Jakky Welsh has been heavily involved in property for over 25 years. As a Landlord (with a Buildings background) she bought her first buy-to-let back in 1995 as a pension plan and later started adding to her portfolio. However, she became very frustrated with the numerous agents managing her rental properties – more often than not having to deal with problems and issues that arose herself…all the while paying her agents for a service not fully provided. This got her to thinking “What am I actually paying them for!?”

This led her to take the bull by the horns and take the initial leap of going part-time with her then job and managing her own rental properties the rest of the time. From that moment on, there was no going back. Jakky was hooked! She was hands on and loved it – her passion for property grew and grew culminating in the successful family run business we are today with her daughter Natalie an integral part of that accomplishment.

Jakky is also extremely proud that the very first tenant she found herself for one of her properties is still there 14 years on! And many of the very first landlords she took on remain on our books today as loyal and happy customers!


Jakky initially started working in new build sales in 1997. From there, she went on to sell her own home in Dunfermline, at its full asking price, off-market, in less than one week. This was in 1999 when the market was dire!! There were around 6 properties for sale on her street at the time with major estate agents. Because of this, no estate agent would even come to value her property, the properties on the market were just not shifting. So in true Jakky fashion, she just did it herself!

Homes in Focus has also, throughout its existence acted as and introducer, between buyers and sellers in off-market sales.

In 2017, we took the next exciting step in our proposition and began offering an estate agency service – one with a clear difference. Having the infrastructure and vast local property knowledge firmly in place, it was a straight-forward decision that made a lot of sense and so has been a very smooth move into the world of selling property.

The ethos behind our business as a whole is simple. At Homes in Focus, we treat all our properties – whether for let or sale – as if they were our own. It works for us and it works for our clients.


We are a family run business founded on core family values. We are small…but we like it that way. Delivering a first class personal customer service based on trust, compassion and communication is our number one priority. By remaining a tightknit, hands-on team, it allows us to provide a service that meets and hopefully exceeds expectations to our sellers, landlords and tenants each and every time and throughout the entirety of our working relationship.

And as the vast majority of our business comes through Word of Mouth and Recommendations. We feel this speaks volumes.
